Limericks Week-Long Music and Cultural Calendar Highlights Diverse Acts From Lewis Capaldi to Florence & The Machine

Limerick’s cultural lineup for the week of 25‑1 June is a kaleidoscope of music, theatre, sports and community buzz that underscores the city’s thriving arts scene.

The week opens on Thursday, 25 June, with the city’s “Twilight Thursday” series. Dolans hosts Derek Mitchell’s comedy showcase Double Dutch: Two, while Pharmacia transforms into a queer‑themed club night at GowlHaus, featuring female DJs at every bar and a drag show upstairs. The event also offers a raffle with prizes such as VIP tickets to Limerick Pride’s Climax Party. In the Old Quarter, Monticelli rocks out with classic hits, and Alltacht teams up with guest Niamh Parsons—her voice has been likened to Irish folk icons. A celebration of the city’s creative community, Ten Years of The Limerick Lady, takes place at No. 1 Pery Square. Other Thursday highlights include a Siege of 1691 Walking Tour at the Hunt Museum, a Brazilian Festa Junina on Wickham Way, Voices from the Parlour at Mother Macs, Twilight Trivia Thursday at Phil Flannerys, and a performance by the People’s Museum’s Kingdom.

Friday, 26 June, brings chart‑topping singer Lewis Capaldi to Thomond Park, where he is joined by CMAT and The Academic. The same night, the cover band The Outsider plays at Blue Bar, Punches Cross, and Drive performs in the Old Quarter. Afternoon plans feature a Michael Bublé‑themed brunch at The Black Rabbit, a Cake Fest in the People’s Park, and Hot Fuss at 1314 Flannery’s.

Saturday, 27 June, is a whirlwind for music lovers. Florence And The Machine lights up Thomond Park with a high‑energy show. At Dolans, the Limerick‑based MJ Ice Band energises Athlunkard Villa FC supporters, while Red Fury rocks the Old Quarter. Dolans also hosts the party‑style Roll With It and the experimental rock event Crying Loser / Taupe at Pharmacia. The Castletroy Park Hotel presents a flamenco evening with Rebeca Ortega and Ramon Ruiz, and the TUS Gaelic Grounds hosts a minor hurling final between Limerick and Tipperary. Saturday’s other offerings include the Rolling Tones Rock Choir at Castleconnell Hall, an 80s night with Leon at Phil Flannerys Bar, the Roadrunners at Blue Bar, Fiana Ní Chonaill’s new‑album set at Steamboat Music, AfroFusion at Molly’s, DJ Tom Prendergast at Record Room, and an after‑show party at Dolans Terrace.

Sunday, 28 June, returns Michael Bublé for a full evening set at Thomond Park Stadium. The Blue Bar hosts The Lockys, the Limerick Milk Market features a vintage market, and Liam O’Brien performs at Off The Bone.

Monday, 29 June, offers a film screening of Power Ballad at Belltable, an IFI event directed by John Carney.

Tuesday, 30 June, hosts a Music Bingo Night at The Half And Half Bar.

The week concludes on Wednesday, 1 July, with Kings of Leon taking the stage at Thomond Park Stadium, flanked by special guests Florence Road.

This schedule showcases Limerick’s ability to host a wide spectrum of performers and events across venues ranging from intimate bars to a major stadium. It also highlights the city’s commitment to inclusive programming, community celebrations and cross‑genre collaboration, delivering a comprehensive cultural experience for residents and visitors alike.
